The green grass the heather the warm summer days,
The blue bells, the thistle, the bagpipes that played.
The grouse, the snow drops the sweet daffodil,
The piper that played on a snow covered hill.
The shepherd that tends his sheep on the fell,
The clear cold water that comes from the well.
The golden eagle, the pheasant, the moor-land hen,
The curlew, the falcon, the mist in the glen.
The robin, the blue tits, the blackbird that sings,
The sparrow, the wren, the swallows in spring.
The collie, the sheep, the red deer, the fox,
The owl, the warbler, the starling, the hawk.
Cherished memories of Scotland
That follows our line,
An inheritance of might.
From auld lang syne.
