The Coyote's Way
       by W. D. Chase ©1999

Coyotes howl, snowflakes fall,

winter white washes the forest halls.

Below the ground in burrows deep,

Nature's favored animals sleep.

Resting in warmth, and waiting till spring,

When birds from the south will return to sing.

Life sometimes is as winter, cold and white.

Joy and contentment rest burrowed away out of sight.

Happiness returns when spring comes again.

So do as the coyote, keep prowling till then.
