How can you Know

How can you know the mind of another?
What makes us different from each other?
A look, a walk, a stance?
Can he run? Does she dance?

A mind that does math may love a song.
Feet that can't walk may want to run.
Don't go! Stay out of range!
That one over there looks rather strange.

A chance never taken, opportunity lost.
Someone is different, man that is gross.
Fear! What will others think?
Fear! If I go too near what will I be?

A brother, a sister, a fellow human being.
These things are not bad.
Don't miss an opportunity!
Learn, grow, love, we are all family.

WORDS

WORDS ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE TOYS.
I PLAY WITH THEM OFTEN, SOMETIMES IN
MY MIND, SOMETIMES ON PAPER.
I USE THEM SOMETIMES THE WAY I SHOULD
SOMETIMES THE WAY I SHOULDN'T.

OFTEN WHEN I AM SERIOUS, AND NEED THEM TO
SAY HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU, HOW VERY MUCH
TO DESCRIBE THE VARIETY AND DEPTH OF MY
FEELINGS FOR YOU.  THEY ARE GONE.
MY MIND IS EMPTY OF THE WORDS I NEED.

MY TONGUE IS BLIND.  I KEEP MY FEELINGS
TO MYSELF, LIKE A SELFISH COLLECTOR, WHO
DOESN'T WANT ANYONE TO SEE THE TREASURES
HE OWNS.  NO ONE WILL EVER SEE THEIR BEAUTY.
NO ONE WILL EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.
UNLESS YOU REMEMBER WHAT THEY WERE LIKE
BEFORE I GOT THEM FROM YOU.
